Today we spoke to Selaan Naidoo – Newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the National Arts Council. We were talking about his role as the CEO and also the fact that South Africa has won the bid to host the World Summit on Arts and Culture in 2009. The theatre for life is helping young people talk about issues such as sex, drugs and poverty. Learners from grade 1 to grade 12 participate in the programmes that consist of puppet shows, plays and discussions. The languages used are English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa.
