The Little Eden Society

We spoke to Gaahele Mokgoro, the Public Relations and Communications Coordinator for LITTLE EDEN Society. LITTLE EDEN is a registered non-profit organization providing life-long care to 300 children and adults with profound intellectual disability in two custom designed residential facilities – Domitilla and Danny Hyams Home in Edenvale, and Elvira Rota Village, in Bapsfontein. LITTLE EDEN aims to develop persons with intellectual disabilities to their full potential and to encourage the community to recognize that each such person is whole and complete created by God with a mind, a body, a spirit, a soul… Gaahele shared the inspiration that started LITTLE EDEN society in 1967 and various types of support services provided to the residents including medical attention and support in completing everyday tasks.  Gaahele also elaborates on the challenges LITTLE EDEN faced during the COVID-19 pandemic in funding and social interaction, but emphasizes the perseverance demonstrated and smiles

A.R.T.S. Entertainment Addressing Elitism in Cape Town's Music Industry

I had the privilege to speak to Masedi and Sliq from A.R.T.S. Entertainment this week. Arts in Cape Town are widespread, and the main goal of A.R.T.S. Entertainment is to support disenfranchised artists by providing studios, hosting events, and educating artists on how the music industry works. Masedi, an artist herself, created iKAPA2theWORLD, meaning Cape Town to the world, a platform that recognizes artists and creatives from unrecognized communities in a city where the elite and divided ecosystem only caters for the few. The aim of iKAPA2theWORLD is to help creatives thrive in the world and show the rest of South Africa and the world that Cape Town has just as much potential in the arts and culture industry. Talks about Ectopic Pregnancy with Clinician Nthabiseng Mdluli

A very good afternoon today on Sakhisizwe Building the nation Boudienasie we were speaking to Nthabiseng Mduli who is a clinician by profession, a motivational speaker and is currently studying Clinical Psychology at the University of South Africa. She was informing us about a very interesting type of pregnancy that according to National Centre for Biotechnology Information in South Africa (SA), EP was reported to occur in 11 out of every 1000 reported pregnancies.    In as much as it is rare it is also common, it is said to be life-threatening and the Pregnancy that we are talking about is called Ectopic Pregnancy. She gave us a detailed explanation of ectopic pregnancy that it occurs in a fallopian tube, which carries eggs from the ovaries to the uterus and that sometimes, an ectopic pregnancy occurs in other areas of the body, such as the ovary, abdominal cavity or the lower part of the uterus (cervix), which connects to the vagina .
