In today's show, we spoke to J anine Myburgh - President at the Cape Chamber o f Commerce and Industry about the 14 th report o f the Commission f or Employment Equity. The Cape Chamber o f Commerce and Industry said it is disappointed with the document because it does little to promote the real development. We spoke to Nashira Abrahams - Dispute Management and Prevention Commissioner at the Commission f or Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration or CCMA. We were talking about the South A f rican Labour Dispute System and the CCMA. The CCMA is an independent organization that resolves labour disputes. Some f orm o f con f lict in the workplace is experienced in most i f not all companies. When con f lict arises, it is wise to call in a neutral person to mediate discussions. We closed off with Alan Winde – MEC o f Finance, Economic Development and Tourism. On the 22 nd of April 2014 the Western Cape government, in partnership with the City o f Cape Town announced that R2.8 million Digital Access Centre is set to be launched in Elsies River . The Interactive Community Access Network (ICAN) Centre f orms part o f the roll out o f the Western Cape Government's R1.3 billion broadband plan to connect communities across the province over the next three years. Residents will have access to Wi-Fi hotspots, meeting rooms, video-con f erence f acilities, training workshops, study rooms and sound-proo f recording booths. The initiative builds on the success o f the City o f Cape Town ’s broadband initiative in which R222 million has been set aside over three years towards the roll out o f broadband in f rastructure throughout the Metro.

In today’s show we spoke to Dr Barbara Boswell - Project Officer for the Young Women's Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights Leadership Project at the African Gender Institute. They recently hosted more than 40 students and lecturers from the Universities of Botswana, Zimbabwe , Namibia , Eduardo Mondlane in Mozambique , Wits University and the University of Cape Town in a three-day workshop. The workshop’s aim was to build capacity in the areas of sexual and reproductive health rights education, action research and feminist leadership. We also spoke to Lubabalo Mgqatsa – UWC L ibrary Science student and co-organiser of the Langa/Sharpeville Exhibition. We spoke about the Langa/Sharpeville Exhibition hosted by UWC Mayibuye Archives Centre and Robben Island Museum Collection . Sister Anne-Louise Cruickshank - Western Cape Haemophilia Foundation Coordinator was Instudio. Haemophilia is a rare inherited disorder that leads to abnormal bleeding, and specifically the inability to stop bleeding. On Thursday the 17 th of April is the World Haemophilia Day and will focus on encouraging the global bleeding disorders community to Speak out. Create change . This year they are making a particular effort to reach out to young members of the community so as to promote their participation and to develop strong leadership. They want their young members to feel inspired to assume key roles in building and supporting the bleeding disorders community. Sister Cruickshank explained more about the importance of this day.
