In today's show, we spoke to Sindisiwe Moyo – Social Worker f rom Ilitha Labantu. Ilitha Labantu is a social service and educational organization with a speci f ic f ocus on addressing violence against women and children and supporting those a f f ected by it. It was f ounded in February 1989 by Mandisa Monakali. It aims to empower women who have been a f f ected by domestic violence, meet the needs o f women and children a f f ected by domestic violence, p rovide services run by women which are based on listening to survivors, challenge the disadvantages which result f rom domestic violence, support and re f lect diversity and promote equality o f opportunity and promote cohesive inter-agency responses to domestic violence and develop partnerships .
