Wednesday – Gender Equality

We spoke to Tracy Engelbrecht from Young Mom Support. Young Mom Support is a non profit organisation which began in 2010 as a social support group for pregnant and parenting teens, with monthly meetings.

 As the demand for there services has grown, they are moving towards a service model where the moms themselves will be trained to take ownership of their small community groups, as well as continuing to provide online support via email, chat and phone to pregnant and parenting teens around the country. They also provide workshops to schools on the topics of teen pregnancy and teen parenting and sexuality.

The main aim is to provide a safe non judgemental environment for young mothers of all race and culture.
