We spoke to Carol Jacobs the founder from Mothers Unite.
Mothers Unite was started by a mother who realized that the children in her neighbourhood were not receiving a minimum of one meal a day.  In 2008 three mothers started working with 30 children between the ages of 4 – 18 years from a mother’s home in Seawinds, Lavender Hill. The mothers now consist of 8 mothers and they cater for 80-90 children. They provide various programmes to the children to help them excel.

800 million people around the world are living with obesity.

  4th of March is observed as World Obesity Day and we spoke to CEO Professor Pamela Naidoo and Dietitian Kinza Hussian from The Heart and Stroke Foundation.  So according to the World Obesity Federation, 800 million people around the world are living with obesity. And then also in South Africa almost 65% of women and 30% of men are classified as being overweight or obese. Child Protection Week is an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about the rights and well-being of children.
