Perinatal Mental Health Project empowers pregnant women

Liesl Hermanus - Counsellor for the Perinatal Mental Health Project in Hanover Park joined us on the linePMHP is an independent initiative based at the University of Cape Town as a founding partner of the Alan J. Flisher Centre for Public Mental Health which has been operating for 10 years in close partnership with the Western Cape Provincial Department of Health. It provides a counselling service in 4 public obstetric facilities in Cape Town as one out of three women living in poverty in South Africa will suffer from a mental health problem related to her pregnancy.
