Khayelitsha marches against Monsanto

We closed off with Community Activist - Dumisani Wambi. We were talking about a March Against Monsanto they embarked on last Saturday. On May 24th, millions of activists from around the world Marched Against Monsanto, calling for the permanent boycott of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) and other harmful agro-chemicals. The marches occurred on six continents, in 52 countries, with events in over 400 cities. In South Africa 10 marches were hosted making this country the largest hosts in Africa. 800 million people around the world are living with obesity.

  4th of March is observed as World Obesity Day and we spoke to CEO Professor Pamela Naidoo and Dietitian Kinza Hussian from The Heart and Stroke Foundation.  So according to the World Obesity Federation, 800 million people around the world are living with obesity. And then also in South Africa almost 65% of women and 30% of men are classified as being overweight or obese.
