We closed off with Sindi Ningiza - Provincial organiser for the South African Domestic
Service and Allied Workers Union or SADSAWU in the Western Cape. We were talking about the Labour
imbizo that’s happening this Saturday focusing on domestic workers. Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant will be hosting the first ever domestic
workers’ Public Participation Programme that aims to engage them on their
rights in terms of the Basic Conditions of Employment, Labour Relations as well
as the Unemployment Insurance Act. It will also be used to help workers on matters
regarding claims for the unemployment insurance fund, compensation fund and
worker registration on the department’s Employment Services for South Africa
among others. It’s happening on Saturday the 2nd of November at
Mandela Park Stadium in Khayelitsha from 10:00AM . For further information
