of May is International Biodiversity Day and as part of the Kirstenbosch
Centenary celebrations, entry to Kirstenbosch and Biodiversity Day activities
on this day will be free.
The
day has a full schedule of walks, talks, films and activities open to the
public, as well as an interactive display area showcasing the science
programmes at SANBI. Speakers during the day-long programme include renowned
climate change scientist Prof Guy Midgley; and activities include Bioblitzes, a
GIS garden game, and guided walks. Four
biodiversity-related films will be shown in the afternoon programme. Free
entrance to both the showcase and Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden for
the whole day. There is no need to book. For more information contact the
