Taswell Williams - Chairman of Kilema Africa joined us to talk about their
Light-up campaign. Kilema Africa is a Cape Town based NPO managed by
people with disabilities. Their aim is to assist and develop its peers to develop their
full potential and create a barrier free society which will enable them to
enjoy social inclusion on all levels without barriers due to inaccessibility.
Its key focus areas are Inclusion, Rights, Peer Counselling, Financial sustainability, Social reintegration, Awareness raising/Promote, Education and Accessibility. The organisation recently launched their Light-up campaign whereby wheelchair
bound Mitchell’s Plain and Khayelitsha residents had their wheelchairs marked with reflective
stickers to make them more visible on the roads. For further information or to assist you can contact
Taswell on 073 479 2753.
