On the show today, we spoke to Dr Wesley Mabuza – Chairperson of the Commission for the Promotion and
Protection of the Rights of the Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities.
The commission’s mission is to promote and develop peace, friendship, humanity,
tolerance and national unity among cultural, religious and linguistic
communities. We were talking about the International Mother Language Day, which was
yesterday the 21st of February. This day has been observed yearly
since February 2000 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and
multilingualism. Dr Mabuza explained
