Arterial Network to host a public dialogue forum & Arts Update

Peter Rorvik - Arterial Network Secretary General joined us on the line. Arterial Network South Africa will be hosting a public dialogue forum on the 4th of February titled: “When do artists go too far and when do we not go far enough?According to the Network, Artists have attracted harsh judgment from government – supported by sections of the wider society - for going ‘too far.’ In 2012, artworks such as Brett Murray’s The Spear and Ayanda Mabulu's painting Umshini Wam, both satirising what some describe as ‘the pretensions of the ruling elites’, caused much controversy and public debate from all sectors of society. For more information contact Valmont Layne on (021) 465 9027 or send an email valmont.layne@gmail.com
