On Sakhisizwe today, we spoke to Mandla Gqamlana - Programme co-ordinator for Masifundise Development
Trust. We were talking about their concerns regarding what they term "bureaucratic delays that’s
robbing fishers of their livelihoods". Masifundise Development Trust is urging
the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to issue interim relief
fishing permits immediately so that fishers can exercise their right to earn a
living. Unfortunately the department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries was not available for comment. For more information about Masifundise Development Trust you can contact Mandla on (021) 685 4549 or send an email to mandla@masifundise.org.za
