Enterprise Elevator to host entrepreneur pitch competition

We closesd off with Vuyisa Qabaka - of Enterprise Elevator. We were talking about the entrepreneur pitch event that they hosting tonight at the Dream Factory, 10 Orphan St in Cape Town. Enterprise Elevator supports South African entrepreneurs in the start-up or early stage of their development to prepare for and secure an investment partner because it believe entrepreneurs have a key role to play in societal transformation in relation to justice, environmental preservation and economic abundance. Enterprise Elevator’s final six entrepreneurs selected to compete in tonight’s Entrepreneur Pitch sponsored by U-Start and FNB will see each competing entrepreneur given five minutes to pitch their business idea to a judging panel of industry experts and business innovators. Each finalist will receive business coaching valued at R30 000 by FutureFit, R20 000 by Impact Amplifier and FNB will contribute a cash prize to the winner. The six finalists are Future Power Solutions, Iono Broadcasting, Greenpop, Trashback, Youth Village and SpringAGE. It’s happening tonight November 29th from 18:30pm. Tickets cost R70. Winter having an effect on Bloodstocks

The Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS) is appealing to all donors to donate blood as blood stocks are critically low. “The winter is having a severe effect on our bloodstocks and we are amidst a severe blood stock shortage”, says Marike Carli, Public Relations Manager at WCBS. There is a critical shortage in the O and B blood groups, with only a 2-day supply left. The A-positive blood stocks are also under severe pressure as only a 3-day supply is left. WCBS always aim to have a blood stock level of 5 days. The winter weather is not conducive to going out, and with the continuing storms in Cape Town, they are seeing the effects on their blood stocks. Blood donors suffer from colds and flu during this time and can subsequently not donate blood – up until the resolution of their symptoms .
