22 November - Labour - Seda to host Entrepreneurship Fair

On Sakhisizwe today, we spoke to Denise Dookoo - Marketing specialist for the Small Enterprise Development Agency or Seda. She was speaking to us about their Entrepreneurship Fair. The Small Enterprise Development Agency in partnership with the University of Stellenbosch will host the Entrepreneurship fair that aims to facilitate the growth of small businesses themed “Expanding and Growing Your Business”. The fair provides an opportunity for business owners to network with Seda’s Business Advisors and other support organisations who will be exhibiting. It’s also an ideal platform for business owners to network with each other as well in addition to the fair showcasing access to opportunities and support for all SMME’s. It’s happening from next week Tuesday November 27th to Thursday November 29th at the Woodmill Lifestyle Centre in Stellenbosch from 10:00AM to 9:00PM. 800 million people around the world are living with obesity.

  4th of March is observed as World Obesity Day and we spoke to CEO Professor Pamela Naidoo and Dietitian Kinza Hussian from The Heart and Stroke Foundation.  So according to the World Obesity Federation, 800 million people around the world are living with obesity. And then also in South Africa almost 65% of women and 30% of men are classified as being overweight or obese. Child Protection Week is an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about the rights and well-being of children. It typically includes a series of events, campaigns, and activities aimed at promoting child safety, preventing abuse, and advocating for policies and practices that support children's healthy development.  Molo Songololo is a registered non-profit organization that promotes the rights and protection of children and youth, and especially girls. Their work aligns with the goals of Child Protection Week, focusing on advocacy, education, and empowerment to create a safer and more inclusive environment for children.
