Phenomenal Women to host a weekend boot camp

We heard from Colleen Isaacs - of Phenomenal Women. She was speaking to us about their upcoming weekend boot camp. Phenomenal Women was established in 2009 by Amanda Sickle to provide a holistic community service to support women who have experienced trauma, hardship, bereavement or challenges related to single parenting and generate awareness among all members and communities regarding STD/HIV/AIDS and other related diseases. It also stimulates entrepreneurship, self-reliance and economic stability among women, and facilitates the rebuilding and restoration of women so that they shift from dependence to independence, from victim to victor. 800 million people around the world are living with obesity.

  4th of March is observed as World Obesity Day and we spoke to CEO Professor Pamela Naidoo and Dietitian Kinza Hussian from The Heart and Stroke Foundation.  So according to the World Obesity Federation, 800 million people around the world are living with obesity. And then also in South Africa almost 65% of women and 30% of men are classified as being overweight or obese. Child Protection Week is an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about the rights and well-being of children.
