We also heard from Karen
Horton - Nutritional adviser. She was speaking to us about how to manage Pre-Menstrual
Syndrome or PMS. Pre-Menstrual Syndrome is a set of hormonal changes that trigger a wide range of
physical and emotional symptoms in women that generally occurs between 7 to 14
days before menstruation
and then stops once menstruation begins. It only occurs during a woman's
childbearing years as it stops after menopause. The most common symptoms are acne, anxiety, fatigue, irritability,
fluid retention, forgetfulness, mood swings, bloating, breast tenderness, sugar
cravings and weight gain. For more information you contact Karen on 083 454 8092.
