science awards. The Department of Science and
Technology held the South African Women in Science Awards last week
Friday which profiles the work of prominent women scientists and researchers,
and act as role models for younger women scientists, researchers and girls
countrywide. Since its inception in 2003 the awards are held in August every
year as part of DST ’s contribution to National
Women's Month celebrations and this year’s theme was ‘Using Science and Technology
to Develop Rural Women and End Poverty’. Reseachers can visit www.nrf.ac.za
