07 June - Labour - MEDO & UKTI Programme boosts SA Entrepreneurship

In today's show, we were joined by Judi Sandrock - Joint CEO and co-founder of the Micro Enterprise Development Organisation or MEDO. She was here to talk about the recent trade visit that their Entrepreneur’s Development Programme finalists embarked on. The Entrepreneur’s Development Programme a 5-month intensive business skills training programme culminating in a trade visit to the UK in May was in conjunction with the launch of MEDO’s partnership with the UK Trade and investment aimed at increasing micro business growth through strategic trade between South Africa and the UK in November last year. Judi accompanied the ten South African entrepreneurs to the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) Programme which was structured to help MEDO entrepreneurs make contact with British businesses and potential investors.  Not only did the entrepreneurs gain valuable business contacts but were also able to generate jobs and create wealth back in South Africa.Entrepreneurs don’t pay to get into the programme. People who wish to enrolled can contact MEDO on (010) 500 5000 or visit the website www.medo.co.za
