A Word of Art to host a Commune/Communicate/Comment exhibition & Arts Update

We were also joined by Catherine Howard – Artist-in-residence with A Word of Art. Her work is spanning the gamut during this residency - photography, teaching, murals, writing, and drawings. Tomorrow A Word of Art will be exhibiting the work that was created during Catherine's project duration, as well as relevant work that Catherine and fellow artist-in-residence Victoria Potter have developed over the course of their residencies. Commune/Communicate/Comment is an exploration of community building and social awareness, engaging participants (both the students and event attendees) in a dialogue about interconnectedness, playful collaboration, and empathy. Catherine and Victoria will display artwork created during their residencies alongside the artwork created by the boys at the Percy Bartley House in a one day pop-up exhibition from 3-6 pm. The photographs taken during the workshops will be compiled into a limited edition photo book, alongside essays by both Catherine and Victoria. Books will be available for pre-order at the pop-up exhibition as well as online. 50% of the profits from sales of the Commune/Communicate/Comment photo book will be donated to the Percy Bartley House.
