We were also joined by Bruce Bouwers - Director of Starfair Business Consulting (SBC) and the Marketing Manager – Marion Le Fleur. They were here to tell us more about their organisation and how they tackle poverty and unemployment. SBC has three focus areas: start-up business, existing business and social enterprises which is their main focus as it tackles both economic and social issues of communities and societies. In 2011, SBC joined forces with Haedons Training Academy to tackle the social and economic ills of the Cape Flats whereby they spearhead these issues through a number of programs such as, Information Workshops, Training on How to Do Business with the City of Cape Town, Skills and Development Training, Assistance with Social Entrepreneurship (specifically targeting NPO’s to become more sustainable), Business Development Support Services and Access to Finance.
