SAYC - WC hosts Post School Education Summit

We closed off the show with an interview with Thembinkosi Josopu - Chairperson of the South African Youth Council in the Western Cape (SAYC –WC).  He joined us to talk about their recent Post School Education Summit. The summit attended by 180 delegates from centres of higher education, youth formations and non-governmental organisations was held to discuss and to appraise the green paper on Post-School Education that’s currently tabled before Parliament. The closing date for comments and submission on the green paper is April 30th, 2012. Key speakers included inter-alia, the Chairperson of Higher Education and Training - Ishmael Malale, Professor Crain Soudien of UCT, and former head of the committee on transformation and social cohesion, Suraya Jawoodien NEHAWU, Deputy General Secretary and the President of SAYC Thulani Tshefuta.
