15 November - Human Rights - Buckets of Hope project needs community’s help with non-perishable food items
In todays show, we heard from Fatima Martin – Social Auxillary Worker at the Cape Town Association for the Physically Disabled. The association launched the Buckets of Hope project in 2009 to address poverty and employment that many Physically Disabled people are faced with. With community support and assistance from dedicated volunteers, 120 families received buckets filled with essential food items. But the need is far greater than 120 families, their goal this year is to distribute 500 Buckets of Hope during the festive season and they require the community’s help to reach it. They require donations of 15litre buckets with lids, non-perishable food items or sponsorship of, or towards a completed bucket (1 bucket = R150.00). If you want to help or for more information contact their offices on (021) 637 1204 or send an email to reable@iafrica.com
