08 November - Human Rights - Isandla Institute to host a National Roundtable about ‘the Right to the City'
In today’s show, we spoke to Tristan Görgens - Policy researcher in the Urban Land Programme at the Isandla Institute. This programme seeks to use research, advocacy and the building of networks to address urban land issues in ways that unlock 'the right to the city' for all of its inhabitants. On Thursday, they will be hosting a National Roundtable about ‘the Right to the City'. The event to create an opportunity for government ministers, officials, civil society organisations and organisations of the urban poor to begin to jointly explore some of the challenges and opportunities in the development of South African cities. The event will be on Thursday, the 10th of November, at the Belmont Conference Centre in Rondebosch, between 9am - 5.30pm.
