20 October - Labour - Anti-Walmart campaign intensifies
In today’s show, we spoke to Thabo Mahlangu - SACCAWU spokesperson. SACCAWU and COSATU Western Cape have formed an Anti-Walmart Coalition and are intensifying the Anti-Walmart campaign. Today they demonstrated outside Cape High Court. According to Thabo, the protest action intends to explicitly demonstrate to the country and the Appeals Tribunal that not only are citizens opposed to the Walmart entry, but more seriously it poses a major threat to employment and the development of manufacturing and other sectors of the economy.
