04 July - Health - NRGP offers free counselling for reckless gambling
We closed off with an interview with Dr Adele Pretorious - Treatment Director at the National Responsible Gambling Programme. A study conducted by the NRGP Research division revealed that 57% of the South African adult urban population does some kind of gambling – of which half plays the Lottery. While 43% of the same focus group does not gamble. Based on these studies between 4-5% of people are problem gamblers.
