Babysafe addresses baby dumping crisis
We also heard from Bethany O’Connor – from Babysafe. Babysafe is an organisation based in Cape Town with several branches throughout the country. The organisation intervenes in South Africa’s baby dumping crisis by providing a drop off point where the mother can leave her baby anonymously, legally, safely and anonymously, 24 hours a day. In addition to this, the Baby Safe also provides counselling and hosts workshops on child care to pregnant and new mothers. Bethany explained more about the organisation. For more information you can contact their offices on (021) 785 7669 alternatively go to www.thebabysafe.org
