Public Service Gender Indaba to look at the achievement of women's empowerment and Gender Equality
We also heard from Ms Rhulani Makhubela – Chief Director of Diversity Management for the Department of Public Service and Administration. We were talking about the 2nd Public Service Gender Indaba to be hosted by the department tomorrow and Friday. The objective of the Gender Indaba is to create a platform for DGs and HODs to reflect on their role in contributing towards the achievement of women's empowerment and Gender Equality. The Department of Public Service and Administration contributed in the past two years to the success of the women's month by hosting a High-level Round-Table event in 2007, on "Gender Mainstreaming in the Public Service: Challenges and Barriers Faced". The 2nd Gender Indaba will provide an opportunity for departments to track progress in the implementation since the launch in 2007. For more information about the Indaba, you can visit their website www.dpsa.gov.za
