Are we normalising rape?
We closed off with an interview with Professor Amanda Gouws about an article she wrote for gender links. In the article Professor Gouws is asking whether the media is part of the problem or solution when it comes to reporting about rape. According to Professor Gouws some reporting normalises violence and makes it seem that rape is simply another daily occurrence in the lives of women in South Africa.
