31 August - Health - Deaf Awareness Week!!!
In today’s show, we spoke to Lucretia Petersen – from UCT’s Audiology department we were talking about hearing loss. This week is the Deaf Awareness Week and it is dedicated to educating the public about hearing loss, Deafness, Deaf Culture and Sign Language. The aim is to ensure that hearing people understand Deafness and the culture of the Deaf Community. Remember to always remain positive and relaxed when communicating with the Deaf. Show that you care – your attitude can build confidence. Please contact the Audiology department at your local hospital for further assistance.
