In today’s show we spoke to Zelda Holtzman – A consultant for the department of community safety and security, dealing with civilian oversight and social crime prevention. We will be talking about the Community Safety Capacity Building Workshop that was hosted yesterday evening. Cape Town communities are becoming more and more prone to violence, drugs and gangsterism. This is a major concern especially for parents and care givers who are raising children. In many communities it is no longer safe even for children to play in the road. Thus the Department of community safety and security arranged a meeting to address these concerns. Zelda explained more about the outcome of the workshop.
