She is one of the cast members in Shakespeare’s As You Like It that is currently on at Maynardville Open-Air Theatre till the 14th of February. The production features an all-star cast directed by acclaimed Shakespeare director Geoffrey Hyland. She plays Celia, Duke Frederick’s daughter and Rosalind’s cousin. As You Like It is presented by Artscape, the Maynardville Theatre Trust and NAC. Special performances for learners and students take place on January 19, 20, 26, 27, 28, February 2, 3 and 4 at 19:45; the remaining Thursday to Saturday performances are open to all patrons at 20:15. We also heard from Chad Abrahams – from Party with a Purpose Productions. We were talking about the KIT A KID 4 SCHOOL Campaign. The campaign is aimed at dressing 100 Primary School Learners for the 2009 school year by giving away vouchers to the value of R100 but Chad explained more about the campaign and how community members can get involved in making it bigger and better. Tomorrow they will be doing handouts at the Observatory Community Centre, off station road in Observatory between 10:00 and 13:00PM. We closed off the show with an interview with Majozi Mbiza – from the Thomas Mbiza Athletic Club. We were talking about the “I want to run” campaign. Through this campaign they are asking people to donate a pair of old running shoes. On the 11th of February they will host a 10KM night race and 50KM fun run/walk in Simon’s Town.
