Today we were joined instudio by Cyrille Masso – A pioneer of Cameroonian independent cinema. Cyrille is a guest of this year’s Encounters Film Festival. His film titled The Encounter is about a young Cameroonian young woman who’s got nothing but love for HipHop. This filmmaker has produced numerous fiction films and documentaries, some of which have won prizes at international festivals. We were talking about this film and his involement with the Encounters Film Festival. The film will be screened tonight at 6:15pm at Nu Metro in V&A Waterfront. We closed off the show with an interview with Shafiek Rajap – Chairperson of the Eoan Group School of Performing Arts. The Eoan Group-School of Performing Arts is a cultural community organisation based in Athlone (Cape Town) where the youth of different areas get together to learn various forms of performing arts.
