We closed off the show with an interview with Nthabi Mofokeng – A Hip Hop Artist. Much of the hip hop music and many videos specifically convey, promote, and propagate negative images of women. All women, black in particular are seen in popular hip hop culture as sex objects. Hip hop has sometimes been criticized for such portrayal of women, but the question is how female MCs have played a role in this genre, from its beginnings to what it is today. Nthabi shared with us how she has managed to stay on top on this male dominated genre. Her debut album titled “Welcome to Me” will be released in mid 2008!
