Today we spoke to Viola Manuel – Executive Director of the Cape Information Technology Initiative or CITI. They are encouraging women from the Western Cape to apply to an entrepreneurship competition aimed at women who owns small IT business. The winner will receive R100 000 to fund her technology business. The closing date for the entries is the 30th of April. And we also had an interview with Dean Peacock and Juliana Davids – from the Sonke Gender Justice Network. The Sonke Gender Justice Network recently facilitated a workshop for 15 Goodwood Prison inmates on how behavior affects the way they socialize and interact with the members of the opposite sex. They run various project aimed at promoting Gender Equality like the One Man Can Campaign and the Men as Partners Network that aims to involve men in communities in preventing gender violence and HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support.
