11 January – Labour

Today we spoke to Randall Howard from the South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU). The Union has threatened to strike in protest against the South African Airways planned retrenchments. SAA announced in November last year that it planned to retrench about 1,000 employees to curb high operating costs. If you want more information about the matter you can contact SATAWU offices at (021) 461 9410 or (011) 333 6127.
