In today’s show, we were broadcasting live from Nonceba Family Counselling Centre in Khayelitsha as part of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign . The Centre was founded in 1998 to respond to the problems of sexual abuse in Khayelitsha, particularly the sexual abuse of children , which had risen to epidemic proportions due to the serious social problems affecting the township and a lack of capacity to cope from an overburdened police force. Today Sakhisizwe, was broadcasting live at Weltevreden Valley Hall in Samora Machel where Western Cape SAPS / Men For Change launched their 16 Days of Activism 2 nd Annual Enduro motorcycle ride. Philippa Jephson – From Run Cape Town joined us on the line to talk about Run Gugulethu Tour taking place tomorrow in Gugulethu. Run Cape Town is an eco-active tourism initiative that offers guided “sightrunning” tours of Cape Town and the Western Cape. The event will start at 8:30AM at The Mouille Point Lighthouse, 100 Beach Road, Mouille Point and drive in convoy/share lifts to the starting point at Mzoli’s Place, off Klipfontein Road, in Gugulethu at 9AM.  The run starts the run at 9:30AM. We closed off with Michael Bagraim - Chairperson of the Human Capital portfolio committee for the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry to tell us more about their response to the Employment Equity Amendment Bill. According to Mr Bagraim, the business community is strongly opposed to the Employment Equity Amendment Bill which seeks to impose racial quotas on business. It is reported that the Commission for Employment Equity is to meet this week to look at ways of implementing the Employment Equity Amendment Bill, which was passed through Parliament last week. In today's show, Binky Newman - Owner of Design Afrika was Instudio to tell us more about the women weaving project in Du Noon. A new pilot project initiated by the City of Cape Town in Dunoon is weaving social upliftment as 25 underprivileged and unemployed women were taught to weave typha and river reeds into baskets and mats. Phase two of the project will teach the women how to market and sell their products. Detective Warrant officer Andries Douglas and Brigadier André Lincoln – From the South African Police Service joined us on the line. They joined us to talk about the Western Cape SAPS Men for Change 16 Days of Activism – 2 nd Annual Enduro motorcycle ride that kicks off next week. The SAPS Men for Change, is a network that sought to understand gender equality in order to contribute to the discussions on how men can get involved in building gender equality. It was launched in 2006. Residents of Mitchell’s Plain and Khayelitsha are encouraged to attend an exclusive six months training course on the Constitution and Human Rights that will be presented by ENS pro bono in Mitchell’s Plain from March to August. The course will involve an introduction and constitutional process, access to information, justice, courts, socio-economic rights, crime and the constitution with a focus on specific rights. Only selected participants will be permitted to attend the course and receive a certificate upon completion after attending every session. Therefore it’s imperative that each person is able to commit to the duration of the course and also to completing the homework assignments for each session, read and prepare for each session and to share the lessons learnt with family, friends, colleagues and the commu
