We closed off with Michael
Bagraim - Chairperson of the Human Capital portfolio
committee for the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry to tell us more about their
response to the Employment Equity Amendment Bill. According to Mr Bagraim, the business
community is strongly opposed to the Employment Equity Amendment Bill which
seeks to impose racial quotas on business. It is reported that the Commission for Employment Equity is to meet this
week to look at ways of implementing the Employment Equity Amendment Bill,
which was passed through Parliament last week. For further information you can
contcat Mr Bagraim on (021) 422 2860.
