In today's show we spoke to Dr Geert Verhelst - a leading European Cholesterol
and Diabetes expert who was visiting South
Africa on a seminar tour to
share his dynamic research into the latest developments in preventing and
treating these conditions which affect millions of South Africans. It is
estimated that over five million South Africans are at risk of cardiovascular
disease partly due to high cholesterol levels. While between three and seven
million South Africans have Type 2 diabetes and most are undiagnosed. He explained more about how Red Yeast Rice - a miracle grain can help lower
cholesterol levels and Cinnamon helps address type 2 diabetes.
