We spoke to George Ohle - From Absa about the 2013 Absa-Cape Chamber of Commerce Western Cape Exporter of the Year Competition.
All Western Cape based businesses who manufacture, export or provide services to exporters are invited to enter the Absa-Cape Chamber of Commerce Western Cape Exporter of the Year Competition. This year will see a special emphasis on trade with Africa at the 23rd
annual Exporter of the Year competition which is run by the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry and sponsored
by ABSA. The competition aims to promote exports and to recognise the achievements of local
exporters who often succeeded in the face of tough global competition. The
competition is introducing a new award for exports to Africa this year because there
are so many opportunities in the resource-rich countries to the north and they
want to encourage local companies to take advantage of the opportunities. Entries close on the 2nd of August and the finalists will be
chosen by August 20th. The names of the winners will be
announced at a gala banquet in Cape Town in October
2013. For further information or entry forms you can contact
Mary-Jean on (021) 402 4300 or visit www.capechamber.co.za
