We closed off with Nonkululeko
Magadla - Founder of Nkanini Orange (IQ). After spending three years
in prison for drug trafficking Nonkululeko is giving back to
her community through her first community project Nkanini Orange IQ – The Taste
of Learning in Khayelitsha. This community nutrition and learning kitchen
provides healthy food to the community of Nkanini. Her initiative was made possible through the
collaborative efforts and support of A Reaching Hand, a NGO that supports
committed and driven individuals who want to serve and empower their
communties, Correctional Services WC, the University of South Africa (UNISA) and
lastly, a NGO called The Soup Clinic that provides the ingredients to feed
those in need of a nutritious meal. Nkanini Orange IQ is expected to serve
nutritious meals at a cost of 50c three times a week, while rolling out
informal learning and skills programmes for community members of different age
groups, at least once a week to start with. For further information you can
contact Nonkululeko on 083 735 6032.
