Open Book Festival & Arts Update


We also spoke to Frankie Murrey - Open Book Festival Co-ordinator and Poet - Winslow Schalkwyk. Open Book Cape Town is an annual literary festival that was initiated last year. The core programme of the festival includes events that feature both international and local authors. They organise events in selected schools and have started long term projects inspired by their vision. Winslow will be perfoming at the Open Book Festival poetry event "The Distance Between Page and Stage" on the 21st of September at the Truth and Coffee shop, Buitenkant Street in Cape Town from 18PM. Child Protection Week is an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about the rights and well-being of children. It typically includes a series of events, campaigns, and activities aimed at promoting child safety, preventing abuse, and advocating for policies and practices that support children's healthy development.  Molo Songololo is a registered non-profit organization that promotes the rights and protection of children and youth, and especially girls. Their work aligns with the goals of Child Protection Week, focusing on advocacy, education, and empowerment to create a safer and more inclusive environment for children.
