Social Justice Activist challenges necklacing

Nkwame, Busi & Daniel Weeks
We closed off with an interview with Nkwame Cedile – Social Justice Activist. Nkwame is on a hunger strike to draw attention to the acts of vigilante necklacing in Khayelitsha. He has written a letter to Premier Helen Zille and Mayor Patricia De Lille highlighting concerns about necklacing and intends to send the letter to President Jacob Zuma as well. He said there are deeper social ills that needs to be addressed instead of focusing on the symptomps and ignoring the actual cause. Is necklacing an answer to the issue of crime?
