25 April - Gender - Progressive Women’s Movement pushes development of women

On Sakhisizwe today, we spoke to Zanele Hlatshwayo - Executive director of the Progressive Women’s Movement of South Africa. She explained more about the organisation and the work that they do. PWMSA is a Not-for-Profit Organisation launched in 2006 to create a broad front for the development of women in South Africa that would enable women to speak with one voice, address their concerns using a single platform of action irrespective of race, class, religion, political and social standing. The work of the Movement is mostly district based, as opposed to provincial or even national as this is to encourage mass participation of women especially at grassroots level to advocate for and promote their programmes. For further information you can contact PWMSA on (011) 833 0201 or visit http://www.pwmsa.org/
