20 September - Human Rights - NICRO to host Human Rights lecture Series

On Sakhisizwe today, we spoke to Shanaaz Stofberg – From the National Institute for Crime Prevention and the Reintegration of Offenders or NICRO. NICRO will be hosting its 2nd Human Rights lecture Series under the theme ‘Using Prison Sentences in the Strategy of Reconciliation and Reconstruction in Post-Conflict Societies’ on the 13th of October 2011. The seminar will be delivered by the United Nations Commissioner for Human Rights, Navin Pillay. Child Protection Week is an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about the rights and well-being of children. It typically includes a series of events, campaigns, and activities aimed at promoting child safety, preventing abuse, and advocating for policies and practices that support children's healthy development.  Molo Songololo is a registered non-profit organization that promotes the rights and protection of children and youth, and especially girls. Their work aligns with the goals of Child Protection Week, focusing on advocacy, education, and empowerment to create a safer and more inclusive environment for children.
