Youth urged to practise safe sex
We also spoke to Glen de Swart – Psycho-Social Director at Health4Men. This new HIV prevention and Health Care services for men that was launched early last year. They provide free HIV tests, CD4 counts, sexual transmitted infection screening and counselling. We were talking about the importance of STI/Condom Week. This initiative was launched in February 2004 by the Department of Health under the leadership of the late Manto Tshabala–Msimang to bring to light the importance of safe sexual practices through the use of condoms and particularly emphasizing the responsibility in preventing the transmission of STIs and HIV/AIDS.
