11 September - Arts, Culture & Environment - Spier Contemporary 2010 call for Submissions!!

In today’s show, we heard from Farzanah Badsha – Spier Contemporary 2010 Project Manager. The Spier Contemporary 2010, the largest biennale art competition and exhibition in South Africa has opened its call to all artists living in South Africa to begin thinking about how they would like to reflect their experiences, aspirations and visions through new work submitted to this competition/exhibition. The submission deadline is the 30th of October. Ms Badsha explained more on the requirements. Artists can submit any new creative work in any medium. This includes animation, graphic design, illustration and product design. The curatorial team will select up to 100 artists and selected artists will each receive a fee of R4000. Child Protection Week is an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about the rights and well-being of children. It typically includes a series of events, campaigns, and activities aimed at promoting child safety, preventing abuse, and advocating for policies and practices that support children's healthy development.  Molo Songololo is a registered non-profit organization that promotes the rights and protection of children and youth, and especially girls. Their work aligns with the goals of Child Protection Week, focusing on advocacy, education, and empowerment to create a safer and more inclusive environment for children.
