Today on Sakhisizwe we had an interview with Alfred Lose a Senior Investigator at the Public Protector who told us what the Public Protector is about and what it has to offer to people within our communities. The Public Protector was established in order to investigate matters and also to protect the public against matters such as maladministration when it comes to the affairs of government, the improper conduct by a person performing a public function, improper act with regards to public money, unlawful enrichment of a person performing a public function. In May we recognize Child Protection Week!

Child Protection Week is an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about the rights and well-being of children. It typically includes a series of events, campaigns, and activities aimed at promoting child safety, preventing abuse, and advocating for policies and practices that support children's healthy development.  Molo Songololo is a registered non-profit organization that promotes the rights and protection of children and youth, and especially girls. Their work aligns with the goals of Child Protection Week, focusing on advocacy, education, and empowerment to create a safer and more inclusive environment for children.
