27 August – Health
Today we spoke to Petra Fordelman – Nursing Service Manager. We were talking about Oncology. Oncology is the branch of medicine that studies cancer and seeks to understand their development, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. For more information you can contact the Oncology Nursing Society at (021) 843 1323 or visit the Cancer Association of South Africa’s website at www.cansa.org.za
We also spoke to Lindie Lea – Natural Health Practitioner from the Ozone Lifestyle Centre. We were talking about natural health. They say through cleaning out the lymphatic system and boosting the immune system, they believe many symptoms of disease can be alleviated, allowing the body's natural defence systems to work properly again. For more information or contact their offices at (021) 979 2740 or call her on 076 261 1441 alternatively visit www.o3lifestyle.co.za
Our last interview was with Dr Andre van Niekerk – a pediatrician and pulmonologist. We were talking about Flu. Each winter, thousands of people suffer from colds and influenza. Both are highly transmissable infections caused by viruses. Flu spreads easily from person to person through droplet distribution when an infected person coughs or sneezes or, quite commonly, through hand-to-hand contact. For more information you can contact your nearest hospital
