Today we spoke to Brenda Ngxoli – an actress. She played Mimi in Chacha and Vuyokazi in Home Affairs season 1 and season 2. Brenda completed a BA Theatre and Performers Diploma in Speech and Drama at the UCT in 2000. Besides acting Brenda has other talents including public speaking, motivational talks and facilitating workshops on issues such as business proposal writing and health etc. Brenda made her directing debut in 2004 when she directed Through Thick and Thin by Khanyi Magubane at the Market Theatre. She told us about her journey and some of the challenges she faces as an actress in this country. We wish her all the best.

We also spoke to Duncan Rice – a principal at the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy and four learners from the Academy. The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy is an international and Africa's largest community-based drama school for young people from 5-18 years of age and adults. And our last interview was with Siya Bingwa and Aubrey – from the Cape Town Opera. We were talking about Orphans of Qumbu – an opera about three travellers who find themselves in Qumbu Valley. It is written and directed by Michael Williams and features choristers from Kwamfundo Secondary School and ID Mkhize High School. It is currently at the Artscape Theatre at 11 o clock and from July 18 – 26 will @ Joseph Stone Auditorium 11:00. It runs for approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes and entrance only cost R30.00.
